Luminol is a highly sensitive blood reagent used to detect latent bloodstain evidence, usually associated with a clean up subsequent to a bloodletting event. A strong steady chemiluminescent (Low blue light production) reaction takes place when the luminol formula is applied to blood, even in very trace amounts. Luminol must be used in total darkness for best results since the reaction produces light. This Luminol formula has been used extensively in forensic applications and is well documented in forensic literature. It has successfully detected latent blood evidence over 96 months old. This kit is designed for error proof mixing at the scene to ensure the highest sensitivity of the reagent. Luminol should be used immediately after mixing since the sensitivity will diminish within 2 hours after mixing. To Use: Apply luminol mist to suspected blood. If blood is present a Chemiluminessence, (Low blue light glow) is visible. The reaction appears brighter when viewed in total darkness.
